The Yuba-Sutter Healthcare Council
There will be more detailed discussions about healthcare reform elsewhere on this site. For this area, we will simply say that our national healthcare system is broken. Healthcare is provided in increasingly poor quality as money is removed from the healthcare system and people are treated late in their disease. The members of Yuba-Sutter Healthcare Council are working together to make the best use of the limited resources we have in our community. We will be exploring new approaches to healthcare and insurance in the future.
Our members cross the usual boundaries of being doctors or hospitals and the Council is unique in California in this regard. Our current members are: Achieving Health Chiropractic & Wellness Center, Del Norte Clinics, Fremont-Rideout Health Group, Harmony Health, Planned Parenthood, Sutter County One Stop, Tri-County Schools Insurance Group, Yuba-Sutter-Colusa Medical Society, and the Yuba-Sutter Economic Development Corporation. We continue to expand our membership. We are particularly interested in adding pharmacists, regional governments and other groups affiliated with our healthcare system.
Any organization can join. Dues for healthcare organizations are based upon number of employees, beginning at $25 annually. Dues for non-healthcare entities are $50 annually. If you are interested in participating, you may want to start by coming to our meetings, the third Friday of most months.
Our meetings are generally open to the public. Please call in advance (at the number below) to request a seat and verify that there is room.
Our meetings take place at the Yuba-Sutter Economic Development Corporation office (address below) on the third Friday of most months from noon to 1:00 PM.
